Are you considering a studio photography session? There’s no right or wrong answer in choosing an outdoor or studio session. Both locations result in beautiful images. There are many benefits to choosing studio portraits that you might not have thought of before. Here are the top seven benefits of studio photography and why it might be the right choice for your family.
7 Benefits of a Studio Session
1.) Timeless, Classic Backdrop – The studio offers a timeless, classic backdrop that will never look out of season or style. We can still create a custom experience by playing with different backdrop colors or props. You’ll always love the look of your studio portraits as the years go by.
2.) Not Weather Dependent – Here in the Central Valley, We’re lucky to have such beautiful weather most of the time. However, we still have to deal with crazy heat in the summer months and rain in the spring or possible high winds or smoke from wild fires. Inside the studio, we’re always at the right temperature, and you’ll never have to worry about rescheduling due to the weather.
3.) Professional Lighting – With outdoor sessions, we have to worry about the sun. We want to avoid any harsh lighting and shoot for taking our session during the Golden Hour, which is about an hour before sunset. With the studio, we have beautiful natural and professional lighting so that we have more options to schedule your session around your life.

4.) Amenities – When you step into the downtown Ripon, CA photography studio, I want you and your family to feel completely at home here. Instead of walking around to find the perfect spot for your session, I’ll have our backdrops set up and ready so that we can start your session a little quicker. We have a bathroom, and a changing area just steps away for easy changing before and during the session. It’s all right here.
5.) Privacy – Some clients prefer privacy and don’t want prying eyes watching during their session. Some of the most popular outdoor areas can get crowded during peak times. This means waiting for the spot to become available or working around other people. The studio offers a private, quiet escape where your family can relax and be themselves.
6.) No Distractions – The privacy of the studio also means there are no distractions for your family. We want to create and document happy memories for you to remember. Having a private, quiet moment in the studio allows your family to let go and connect with each other. It also means we can happily contain your children in between capturing different family shots. Sometimes toddlers don’t like itchy grass or dirt getting on their shoes, so the studio will keep them happy and comfortable.

7.) Composites for Multi-Family Sessions – I love taking multi-family portraits in the studio for a few reasons. It’s easier to schedule each family in the studio because we don’t have to worry about the weather and daylight. If we need to take the family portraits at different times, combining the images to create a final composite multi-family portrait is easier.
