Women, You Are Valued - Central Valley CA

This is a shout out to ALL women to remind you, YOU ARE VALUED!

As women age, sometimes society begins to treat them as “less than.” And sometimes, as we deal with the changes that age brings, we might even de-value ourselves. But I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, and I want “older” women to know and feel that they have value. Older doesn’t necessarily have to mean elderly. If you are a 30-something, helping teenagers and young women in their 20’s to navigate into adult-hood, you are an “older woman.” If you are an empty nester, letting that young mom know that it goes by fast and it won’t always be so exhausting, then you are an “older” woman. And, if you’re in your 80’s sharing invaluable years of wisdom with women facing middle age, you are an “older woman.”In the Ripon community, and throughout the Central Valley and beyond, I see women giving back in so many ways. From volunteering at church, at school, at our local Garden Joy, in the Garden Club, serving on the Rotary Club, etc. There are so many ways we can give back and so many ways that we add value to our communities.Throughout the years I’ve had women bless me in many ways. From stopping by when I had a new baby and vacuuming my house or bringing a meal. Sometimes, having another woman simply ask how I am doing and truly wanting to know, or sitting and praying with me during a difficult time has made a terrible day turn into a good one. The simple act of inviting me out for coffee or my kids and I over for a play date has made all the difference.

Now, as I’m at the stage of life where my kids are no longer babies or toddlers, I feel like I am able to give back and help moms who are in the thick of it.So ladies, no matter what age or stage of life you are in, please know that you are valued; you can make a difference in someone else’s life. The smallest of gestures can make the biggest of impacts! Things like dropping off a gift card so they don’t have to think about dinner or watching their kids so they get a break. Meeting for coffee to chat about life, or even opening up and sharing your story to encourage another.

In the Women Empowering Womengroup that I lead, we hear from a different woman each month. She shares her life story and experiences, which often are extremely relatable to rest of us. We are enlightened and encouraged by these discussions and often take what we learn and put it into action in our own lives.

So I’m talking to YOU. The one who thinks you’re over the hill, past your prime, whatever your age may be. The one who thinks you don’t have anything valuable to share with the world.

I want YOU to know that you (yes, YOU) bless those around you just by caring and by sharing. You are valued.

So don’t be afraid to open up and share your heart. You never know where it might lead or who will be blessed. Just look for those opportunities. Because if you do, I promise this world will be a better place because of women like you. ️
